The guy needed to go.....Period.
The Board at GM had no balls.....The guy has been in there since '77 and can't get it done....so why keep him around.
The Gov't Is giving up plenty of money.....I say its fine if they want him to go.
Now this is Just my opionion....And we are all entitled to them..so I would rather not get into a long drawn out argument about how the Gov't has no business dipping into public or private business'
If they didn't have any business there....they shouldn't be asking for the money.

while i dont disagree that GM has been nightmare of a company in terms of financial decisions etc. it's a very dangerous precedent that the gov't is bailing out a company and then "suggesting" leadership within a private corporation. This scares the shit out of me especially now that Obo owns one of the largest financial institutions in the world in AIG.
GM ought to just grow some balls and threaten to move their assembly operations to mexico if the union doesnt take a pay cut to make the company competitive with japanese manufacturers.

Plus, Obama is calling for GM and Chrysler to file bankruptcy. I find it funny that 3 months ago they were 'too big to fail' but now that the government has something to gain they should just go out of business.

Not to sound too conspiracy theorist, but I wouldnt be it's a bit coincidental that GW basically drove America to liberalism and the ObaWay of life just in time of a financial meltdown and a socialist-leaning president to step in and unopposedly make his changes. Hell, i've been feeling like the last 4 years, repubs in the White House and Congress have almost tried to make themselves look moronic, stubborn, and ignorant. Convenient.

Maybe he didn't FIRE him... but he put him in an impossible position not to. Because of the congressional powers act... and because congress gave them $$ they now have the right to tell them who their CEO is allowed to be. This move is to save face, and make it seem like they are doing something about those big bad bonuses they gave out. At first congress was just going to take them away... but the problem is... the reason they got those bonuses is because of the legally binding employment contract the CEO has with the company. Had congress let the company keep the money, but forced the CEO to give his shair back even though he had a contract... they would end up fighting a losing court case... because technically that is illegal. BUT!!! If you can talk him into resigning... ignorant people feel like your striking down the big guy for them and the crooks in congress who set this whole thing up knowing full well they could likely get some sizeable campain contributions out of it get to walk off clean as a whistle. Pitty so many folks these days buy into the deamonized portrate of the "rich people" the media keeps painting. The problem is though... that in a capitalist society... the "rich" employ the medium rich, so if you take the money from the rich... they can't employ as many medium rich people, or at least they can't pay them as much. (The poor don't work anyway... so they don't matter in this equation)
In a nut shell... it's a fucked up situation.
